Delete Your Account and Data

SCP-1471 MalO does not ask you to register: an anonymous account is created for you automatically the first time you open the App. This page explains what that account stores and how to have it deleted. The same rules are described in the Privacy Policy.

What is stored​

  • The account record: an internal identifier, interface language, notification token and, if you linked them in the App settings, your email and password (stored only as a hash).
  • Profile details you filled in yourself: name, avatar, "about me" text, gender, age, city, country and interests.
  • Your activity in the App: messages exchanged with the AI character, the photos, videos and voice messages you sent, what the character remembers about you, unlocked content and the history of what was shown to you.
  • Technical and usage records: analytics events, advertising and consent state, delivery log of push notifications.

Delete the account right in the App​

The quickest way, which works for every account, including the anonymous one: open the App and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. No email or password is needed. The account and all the data listed above are deleted from our servers at once and permanently, and the App starts from scratch with a new empty account.

You can also delete individual messages in a chat with a long press.

Deleting the account does not cancel a Premium subscription: subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, so cancel it in your store account settings.

If you cannot open the App​

If you have already removed the App, or you want to keep the account and delete only its data, send a request with the form on this page: malo-app.scp-1471.app/apps/malo/delete-account. Sign in there with the email and password you set in the App (Profile → Email and sign-in), so that we know the account is yours.

If you never set an email and password, delete the account in the App as described above: we have no reliable way to tell which fully anonymous account is yours, and we will not delete someone else's data on an unverified request.

Never send your password by email: we never ask for it in emails.

What happens after a request​

  • Requests from the form are processed within 30 days.
  • Copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days.
  • We keep only records that can no longer be linked to you (for example, aggregated usage statistics) and, where the law requires it, records of purchases.

Removing the App from your device deletes the data stored on the device, but not the account on our servers.
